Quentin: make up design and hair Nr.1

First Design

For my first Quentin design I decided that he is suffering from his abusive girlfriend Claudia. So I thought he could have some bruises and cuts on his face. But I don't want to overdo it with the bruises so I decided to do a bruise on the outer cheek of the right side and a swollen cut just underneath the eye on the left side. He will also have bruises around his neck as he was strangled with wire by Claudia. If the design would be used for the shoot I would put wire around his neck.

The Makeup:

Start with creating the cut. Apply some wax where you want the cut to be and shape it in the form you like. Then with the side of a spatula do a line through the wax so it looks like the wound is open. Then cover wax with latex and dry it with a cool hairdryer. If needed match the skin colour. Apply a light base. Because it is a guy I don't want to apply a thick foundation and would rather just use some BB or CC cream. I have some nice light BB creams from Etude House which cover what needs to be covered but is still very natural. After applying the base powder. Now you can colour in the cut. I wanted it to look swollen around the cut as well as slightly bruised. Apply some yellow, green, red and purple eye shadow to create the bruise. Remember to built up the colour and not apply too much in one go. When done fill the inside of the cut with wound filler and afterwards apply some blood. Around the cut you can apply some Vaseline so it looks slightly swollen. Then using green and yellow eye shadow (Kryolan eye shadow palette)create a not too big bruise on the right cheek. The bruise is already a bit older that's why it is only yellow and green. It is already fading. Now move to the neck. Using yellow,green, red and purple eye shadow again create some bruises around the neck where he was strangled with the wire. Afterwards tie some wire around his neck

The Hairstyle:

The hairstyle for this design is rather simple. I wanted the hair to be slightly wavy and then using some wax create some texture in the hair. To create the wavy hair use curling tongs.
