Claudia: make up and hair Nr.7

Design Seven:

I think my last design is a bit more abstract:) Because I am studying Korean for quite a while now I have seen those traditional folk dance mask a few times. I also found they look quite interesting. But some time ago I watched a music video of a Korean band and they were combining traditional Korean, dance, instruments with their new music. It was quite interesting. They also used those folk dance masks several times in the music video which gave me the idea for this Claudia and Quentin look.
The video below is the music video I got the inspiration from.
ToppDogg- Arario

I decided to do an extra post on Korean folk dance masks otherwise this one would get too long.
Anyway I thought I could use this design as it is not stated anywhere in the brief with nationality Claudia is. It is just being said that her apartment is European style but that doesn't have to do anything with her nationality and well that the name is Claudia doesn't matter that much as well. Haha^^
For my Claudia inspiration I used these kind of  masks.

But I didn't want my Claudia design to look very traditional so I made some changes and also the white is only covering half of her face. It is kind of fading out into the right side, which you unfortunately can't see on the face chart because it is already white, but I will try to upload the design on coloured paper.

The Makeup:

As you can see on the images above the main colours of these bridal mask are white, red and black. I used those colours as well as I wanted to stick with the traditional colours which were used. I started applying a white base on the left side of the face and would fade the base out into the right side. I didn't want her to have a completely white face. Then powder and contour the cheeks area slightly. Then I applied the eyeliner and created a cat eye look. But remember the wing shouldn't be too long. on the right side of the face I tried to apply the eyeliner very natural. The eyeliner should barely be noticed on that side. On the mask you can see the 3 red circles on her face, one on the forehead and one on each cheek. But because the mask in my design is fading out into the right side, there won't be a red circle on that side. So she will only have one on the forehead and on the left side. To do the circles I used my flat round brush which makes perfect circles and some red eye shadow. But of course instead of eye shadow I could also use red supercolor or very red blusher. I wouldn't really change the form of the eyebrows bit fill them in with a black colour. As for the lips, I only coloured i the middle part with a bright red lipstick. Leave out the inner corners of the lips.

The Hairstyle:

Because this design is more traditional I want to keep the hair in a simple high bun. I had a look at some hairstyles that would have been actually worn during the Joseon period and here are some examples. To make it more traditional and maybe more realistic (because they weren't wearing the bun at that time(at least not women)) you could add some traditional looking hair pins.

But not everyone could wear their hair how they wanted to. During the Joseon era there was a strict hair 'hierarchy' where married and unmarried women were only allowed to wear their hair in certain styles. Apart from being married or not it was also important from which class you were
