Contemporary Victorian Hair styles, inspired by American Horror Story

Materials needed:

pin tail comb
paddle brush
sectioning clips
pins
heat protection
hairspray
tong
Preparing for the look:
  • do a slight side parting and create a section for 3 horizontal curls on top for one side and for the other side you do 2 curls
  • remember to keep the curls tight and when you curl hold the tong straight up and go down, then pin them down so they stay in place while they are cooling down
  • ->down use hairspray before you curl unless you want to do avant garde, you will use a lot of hairspray later
  • when you are done with the top do to the sides; do one vertical curl just above the ear, remember to pull the tong a bit back when curling the hair so the curl sits nicely but not to much in the face
  • back: do one curl horizontally on the crown of the head and then keep going down in a kind of brick work shape
  • pin all the curls down and don't release them until they are completely cool otherwise they won't stay in their shape
the top:

Design 1: The Maid

Our Famous Fictional Maid for Wednesday is the terrifying Moira O'Hara. If you're worried your post-Halloween party house will be messy enough to qualify as an 'American Horror Story', schedule your free cleaning estimate today!

Steps:
  • release all the pins and go through them carefully so you won't destroy the curls!
  • but leave the curls on top of the head
  • start at the sides; take the curls from the side and start twisting them inside and keep taking in more and more hair from the back, if needed pin some parts
  • do this for each side and pin the hair inside
  • take the middle bit twist it inside and pin it in
  • going back to the front: take the curls and place them in a wavy shape back, keep building up the curls; on the picture you can see how the curls pile up on each other
  • do the same thing for the other side

Design 2:

Steps:
  • take the paddle brush and and comb out the hair
  • but remember to hold the hair straight and with confidence and then brush them out from above and afterwards from underneath ;the curl is supposed to be in a nice wavy shape than
  • ->NOTE: I am not sure if I did this one right because my friend wasn't really good at explaining and I was ill during the week when we did those hairstyles during lesson
  • do this with all of the hair

Design 3:

For this design you should apply hairspray all over the hair and then just shake  the hair.
Shake it, shake it, shake it!! It needs to have a lot of volume. I also needed to fix the front part a bit more with hairspray because the hair didn't like the direction I parted it so it kept falling back to the middle.
