Design Seven
This is the partner mask of Claudia's I chose for my Korean mask design. As I said before I will do a separate post on Korean masks. I got the inspiration from the image below.

The Makeup:
I would say the make up for this design is the most difficult because it takes a long time to apply and there are a lot of very small details. Because on the original masks the cheek bits were more outstanding I thought of maybe using wax on the cheeks to built them up. If using wax this is the first thing you do. After getting the wax in the right shape cover it with latex and dry it with a cool hairdryer. Now cover all of the face with black. You could either use black super or aquacolor. After it is dry draw the new eye form with a white colour. Just have a look at the shape on the face chart. Above the eyes are the thick yellow eyebrows. And using a red colour create the new mouth. After all the big things are done you can start with all the small detailing. Above the eyebrows are 3 rows with white dots. In the eyes are grey dots just below the outer line and a bigger black circle which is supposed to be a hole , where the person wearing the mask would look through. On the inner and outer corner of the eye(inside the eye shape) are also on each side a small red dot. Then there are the red and white dots between the eyes and going down the nose and cheeks. Finally draw on the dots on the chin area.
The Hairstyle:
The men during the Joseon era often wore their hair up in a bun, which was often covered underneath hats. That's why I decided to just do a simple bun for this design as well.
Some examples:
All the images above are from a historical Korean drama called 'The Three Musketeer'
To do the hair brush all of the hair first. Then take them all up into a neat bun.
