I found the Claudia and Quentin project very interesting. I
especially liked that we had so much freedom with the project, compared to the ‘What
the Dickens…’ project. But having so much freedom also brings some struggles,
like having too many different ideas that you don’t know which design you
should use as your final design. Because I quite liked all my designs, it was
very hard for me to choose and I practiced several designs to see which looked
the best on camera. One thing I didn't really like was that we were only
allowed to choose a TV series from the list that we were given. It was good to
have a list but the first thing is that I didn't know most of the series that
were on the list which is a disadvantage because I definitely did not have the
time to watch them all to see if I want to base my characters on this TV series
and the second thing was that the TV series I already had in mind for
inspiration, and I actually already made designs with the series in my head,
was not on that list. In the end I was allowed to use it but I would have liked
if we had a broader choice in choosing our TV series. Otherwise I had no
problems with the designing process. I actually planned on shooting my
characters during the Easter break when I
was back home in Germany because I wanted to use my sister and her boyfriend as
my models but at that time I didn't know that we had to shoot at least one
character in the studio. But in the end that was okay because the pictures I
took with my sister didn't turn out the way I wanted them anyway. It was still
good for practice reasons and also helped me with the choice of my final
design.
